Tulip Time Festival Announces 501(c)(3) Status
HOLLAND, MI – Wednesday, December 17, 2008 – Tulip Time Festival, Inc. announces it has obtained 501(c)3 public charity status effective immediately. This non-profit status update could assist in helping the overall budget for the Tulip Time Festival. Annually, the festival operates on a balanced budget with a large part of its revenue generated through the generous gifts of corporate sponsors and donors. The financial audit of 2008 fiscal year-end concluded a net profit of $1,003.00.
“With an annual budget of over 1 million dollars we are continually looking at ways to diversify and expand our financial resources,” says Tamra Bouman, Executive Director of Tulip Time. “This welcomed news of receiving the designation offers opportunity to individuals and foundations within our community to make contributions that are now fully tax deductible.”
The Tulip Time Festival is considered to be one of the top 10 largest festivals in the country, infusing approximately 11-15 million dollars annually into the greater Holland community.
