Tulip Time Festival Announces New Board Members
HOLLAND, MI – August 24, 2009. Tulip Time Festival (www.tuliptime.com) welcomes four new members to its Board of Directors. Anne Porter, CPA for DeBoer, Baumann & Company joins the board as Secretary/Treasurer. Anne received a BBA in Accounting from Grand Valley State University in 1996 and her CPA Certification in 2001. Anne has a history of participating in a number of professional and civic organizations including; the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, Holland Area Chamber of Commerce - Ambassador Committee, Holland Young Professionals - Events and Membership Committee, AAUW - Membership Vice President and Leadership Holland.
Additional Tulip Time Festival Board Members include Dr. Patricia Koeze, Superintendent of West Ottawa Public Schools. Dr. Koeze is a 1987 graduate of Central Michigan University with a secondary teaching certificate in biology and chemistry. She has taught middle school science at both Ionia Public and West Ottawa Public Schools. Dr. Koeze earned her Masters from Michigan State University in Educational Leadership and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Easter Michigan University.
Derek Emerson is the Director of Events and Conferences at Hope College where he has worked in various capacities for nearly 20 years. In addition to completing his undergraduate degree at Hope College, Derek completed his Masters degree in Professional Writing from Western Michigan University. He has also done freelance writing, editing, and design work for over ten years.
Tim Breed is a Public Relations Coordinator at Holland Hospital. Prior to that time, he held the position of Manager of Community Relations for Hackley Hospital in Muskegon, and also served for several years as the Executive Director for the Muskegon County Catholic Education Foundation. Tim graduated from Grand Valley State University (William James College) in 1981with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Environmental Studies. Past community board service includes the Muskegon County Planning Commission, Neighborhood Investment Corporation and West Shore Youth Symphony.
