Tulip Time Festival Luncheon Announces Guest Speaker

HOLLAND, MI – April 6, 2009. The Tulip Time Festival is pleased to welcome the Ambassador of the Netherlands to the United States of America, Renée Jones-Bos to the 2009 Tulip Time Festival Luncheon. The Ambassador will discuss the relationship between the Netherlands and the United States; two countries-one spirit united by values, history, and a vision for the future. The Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, May 6 at the Hope College, Dow Center, 168 E. 13th St., Holland, Michigan. Doors will open at 11am and the luncheon will begin at 11:45.

Ambassador Renée Jones-Bos was born and raised in the Netherlands. She did her undergraduate studies in Belgium and received a Master of Arts from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom. Jones-Bos has extensive experience in Foreign Affairs and Human Rights issues. Her visit coincides with the 400th Anniversary of Dutch-American friendship and highlights the unique heritage and bond that the community of Holland shares with the Netherlands.

“We’re so thrilled with the upcoming visit of the Ambassador to the Tulip Time Festival,” says Tamra Bouman, Executive Director of Tulip Time. “She has expressed her delight in joining our community celebration and we are eager to showcase the people and places of Holland, Michigan.”
