For over 80 years, Holland residents have been keeping with the “Dutch Cleanliness” tradition starting with the white glove inspection performed by the Mayor and City Council. (Inspection is located on the corner of 8th & Central, begins at 10:30am and is approximately 20 minutes.) Later, watch hundreds of Dutch-costumed townspeople armed with brooms and pails scrub the parade route clean. The Volkspa- rade features dozens of colorful bands, floats, and more. The Exhibition Dutch Dance groups “Klomp” along the route in their authentic costumes and real wooden shoes! Parade approx. 11⁄2 hours.
