FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I purchase my Tulip City Tour tickets in advance?
No, Tulip City Tour tickets are only available for purchase on the day you wish to take the tour. Tickets are sold at the blue ticket booth at Window on the Waterfront. Tickets are available from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm or until sold out. Please note that tickets are issued for a specific vehicle and tour time.

Are the tour vehicles ADA compliant (wheelchair accessible)?
Only one of our nine tour vehicles is ADA compliant. Please visit the blue ticket booth or call the Tulip Time office at 616-396-4221 to find out available times. Due to this limited availability, we recommend purchasing tickets first thing in the morning. The blue ticket booth opens at 8:30 am each day.

If you are purchasing PLUS tour tickets and plan to get off at the area attraction stops, please note that you will experience an extended wait, as the ADA compliant vehicle leaves the departure point every hour and a half.  For example, if you get off at the Holland Museum at 9:30 am, the ADA compliant vehicle will not be back to that pick-up point until 11:00 am.

If you wish to get off at the Cappon House, please note that this historic home does not have an elevator. All of the other area attraction stops (Settlers House, Holland Museum, and Windmill Island Gardens) are accessible.

Does my child need a ticket?
Children 6-12 are required to have a ticket. Children 5 and under do not need a ticket unless they will be taking up a seat on the tour vehicle (should sit on adults lap).

Can I bring my stroller on the tour?
Strollers are strongly discouraged on the tour due to lack of room. If you need to take one, it MUST be an “umbrella” stroller (must fold up and be placed between you and the seat in front of you). Strollers may be left at Window on the Waterfront and be picked up after you finish. Tulip Time is not responsible for lost/stolen/damaged items.

Is my pet allowed on the tour?
Sorry, no pets are allowed on the tour. Service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are welcome.

If I am purchasing a PLUS tour ticket, how much time should I allow at each area attraction?
If you choose to get off at the area attractions, we suggest the following time allowances:
30 min: Cappon and Settlers Houses
     30 min-1 hr: Holland Museum
     1-3 hrs: Windmill Island Gardens

If I am purchasing a PLUS tour ticket and plan to get off at the area attractions, what time is final pick-up at the end of the day?
5:15 pm: Cappon and Settlers Houses
     5:25 pm: Holland Museum
     5:45 pm: Windmill Island Gardens
Please note that PLUS tour tickets will not be sold for times after 2:45 pm, but tour vehicles will continue to pick you up from the attractions, with final pick-up times listed above. Tulip Time will not be held responsible for anyone who is not at the designated pick-up location at these final pick-up times.
