Andrew Snyder - 2019 AIB Top 20 Finalist

Andrew Snyder received his BFA in painting and ceramics from the Columbus College of Art and Design and his MFA in painting from Western Michigan University. His paintings, ceramics and glass art can be found in numerous corporate and private collections throughout the country. In addition to being an accomplished artist and educator, Snyder also works as a baker for deBoer Bakkerij on Holland’s south side. He lives in Holland with his wife, Lisa, and two children, Madeline and Benjamin.

When describing the inspiration behind his artwork, Snyder states, “Tulip Time has so many things to offer those who attend: Parades, klompen dancers, amazing food, world-class entertainment and much more. All of these choices are reason enough to check out the festival, but for me, the primary draw remains the festival’s namesake, the tulips. The astonishing variety and quantity of the blooms continues to amaze me, even after living in Holland for over twenty-five years. When I heard that this year’s theme was, ‘join the dance as we paint the town orange,’ I was intent on capturing a whimsical vision of a bright array of tulips dancing together in a spring breeze. My painting, ‘Red and Yellow Dance into Orange,’ is meant to capture the fun and energetic spirit of Tulip Time.”
