13th Annual First Bloem Art Competition

Local artists have an opportunity for their artwork to be selected as the official 2023 Tulip Time poster! Tulip Time Festival is asking regional artists to submit works that represent the festival’s mission to celebrate Holland’s tulips, Dutch heritage, and the ever-growing diversity of our community. Artists may submit up to three works for a single entry fee of $35. The deadline for entry is September 28, 2022.

The juror for the 2023 contest, Professor Margaret Vega, will select the top 20 pieces from all the entries. From the top 20 pieces selected by Vega, one winner will be selected as the official Tulip Time poster artwork and will be available for purchase following its’ unveiling in February 2023.

Recent winners of the competition include Kate Moynihan (2022), Aron Lowe (2020) and Carolyn Stich (2019). In 2021, due to COVID, Lowe was commissioned to create a partner piece to her winning design from 2020

As part of the competition, the top 20 artists’ works from 2023 will be on display during the May festival and viewers can vote on their favorite. The winner of the most votes will receive the People’s Choice Award.
